Shelf zones: what goes at eye level, on top and on the bottom shelf
Where a product sits vertically changes how often it is seen and picked. A simple zoning rule makes every planogram better.
The zones
- Top shelf: light boxes and secondary items — tea, small packs, slower lines.
- Eye level (roughly 48–60 in): best sellers and the products you want to grow.
- Middle: cans and steady sellers.
- Bottom: heavy and bulky packs — big bottles, jars, multipacks — that are easier to lift from low.
Blocking
Group products by category, then brand, so a shopper can scan the shelf in one direction. Vertical brand blocks read well on tall fixtures; horizontal blocks suit wide, low ones.
In EazyPlano
Each product gets a zone from its type and size; the planogram is filled zone by zone, then blocked by category and brand. The shelf edges show the zones in colour so the team can see the logic at a glance.
