AI in planogram software: what it should (and shouldn’t) do

AI is useful in shelf planning when it explains and suggests — and dangerous when it invents numbers. Here is how we split the work.

Arithmetic stays exact

Choosing products, sizing facings and fitting shelves are calculations. In EazyPlano they are done by a deterministic engine, so the same data always gives the same planogram, and every number can be traced.

What the AI does

  • Reviews a planogram like a category manager: space vs sales, gaps on best sellers, over-spaced lines.
  • Takes plain-language requests — “give water more room”, “put this brand at eye level” — and turns them into edits the engine applies and checks.
  • Reads shelf photos for compliance checks.

What it doesn’t do

  • Change a planogram without showing you first.
  • Invent sales or sizes.
  • Override what you locked.

Send us a fixture list and a few months of sales. In the demo you’ll see planograms for your own stores — not a sample file.
